✍️ Caption Formatter

Paste a caption or any text and get live character, word and line counts. Clean it up with one-click actions — remove extra spaces, blank lines and duplicate lines, normalize line breaks — with undo always available, plus copy, clear and .txt download.

Characters: 0 Words: 0 Lines: 0

Your files stay with you. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
Please note: The Caption Formatter only cleans and reorganizes text. It does not bypass any platform's rules or character limits, and it makes no promises about engagement or reach.

How the Caption Formatter works

Type or paste your text into the editor. Character, word and line counts update live as you type. Each cleanup button performs exactly one transformation and shows what it changed.

Before every cleanup, the current text is saved to an undo slot. If a result is not what you wanted, Undo restores the previous state instantly. Nothing is ever sent to a server.

Available cleanup actions

Remove extra spaces collapses runs of spaces and tabs into single spaces and trims each line. Remove blank lines deletes empty lines. Remove duplicate lines keeps the first occurrence of each repeated line. Normalize line breaks converts Windows-style line endings to a consistent format.

Each action reports how many changes it made, so you always know what happened to your text.

Copy, clear and download

Copy places the formatted text on your clipboard. Clear empties the editor (with a confirmation step so you never lose work by accident). Download saves the current text as a plain .txt file generated locally in your browser.

Example

A typical result. A creator pastes a caption copied from their notes app, removes 14 extra spaces and 6 blank lines, deletes 3 duplicated lines, then copies the cleaned caption and downloads a backup text file.

Frequently asked questions

Can a cleanup action destroy my text?

No. Every cleanup action first saves your current text, and the Undo button restores the state before the last action. The original input is also kept available until you clear it.

What if the copy button does not work in my browser?

Copy uses your browser's clipboard. On older browsers where clipboard access is blocked, the tool selects the text so you can copy it manually.

How does the text download work?

The download creates a plain .txt file generated locally in your browser. No account or server is involved.

Will formatting my caption improve my reach?

No. The tool only reformats text — it cannot change how any platform ranks or distributes your posts, and it makes no claims about engagement.
